New Mi$ Album Release POSTPONED!

Well- I will spare you guys the long drawn out explanation of why yesterday, February 25th, 2014, the official scheduled release day for the new album… came.. and went.. with no album drop from us.. I assure you- in a round about way- this is a good thing! Basically the skinny of it is we started tracking a set number of tracks for the new album.. But during the recording process we decided to add a and older song remake here.. and wrote a brand new banger there…. and welp- before you know it we were working on the better part of 18 songs.. Needless to say we stretched ourselves a bit too far and need to account for some more mixing time if we want to release as many songs as we have decided to. So sit tight! The new album has been pushed exactly one month and the new release date is now Tuesday- March 25, 2014.. a date I assure you we will hit without a hitch! Keep coming back here, our newly revived blog site, for more updates- we will be posting regularly and have some killer sneak peaks coming your way!

Much Love Monkeys.. We will be touchin down soon- until then: Rukk.. Signing Off.

Another long while- this page has fallen into neglect.. We are currently writing and recording a new record, however it is taking much longer than we anticipated due to lack of funds. We want this record to be of much better quality then FUTI and are spending a great deal of time on preproduction. Look for a few new tracks to be release this summer and the full release to be sometime Fall 2013! Check out the latest video by Ray Roman Media for Supermodel Suitcase below! It ROCKS! Please share and leave us some comments. Also most of our music is available for free download on our soundcloud page (www.soundcloud.com/monkeysinspace) please share- give to a friend, neighbor, Girlfriend, Cousin.. We want the world to hear the Monkeys!

Thanks for all of your support over the years- lets keep the good times rolling. We should be back to performing after our record release in Fall 2013.

Until then enjoy Supermodel Suitcase!

Much Love,

Mi$

Get on Top, No We Won’t Stop

Well, well Monkeys – it’s been a while since our last update, so I thought I’d drop by and let you all know what’s been going on within this rocket ship of ours. For those of you who don’t know, we got a new bass player. His name is Tony – “Tony the tone man,” as we like to call him. Kerp decided to move on to pursue other opportunities, but we all remain very close. He is a Monkey for life!

After Flying Under the Influence was released, we generated some pretty good buzz. All of you seemed to respond to the record with nothing but positivity, which we were so happy to hear. We pushed and pushed online, grew our networks and even earned the ears of a few radio programs here in Southern California. When the tone-man jumped on, we added a new dimension to our LIVE act, which continues to be the baddest fucking rock show around – period. We took a few trips up the coast, including an adventure to San Francisco for the 4th of July. That trip was incredible. We went from getting picked up in a limousine at 4am one night, to getting kicked off the trolley in China Town the next. We spent the 4th on the rooftops playing music, drinking beer, and watching fireworks go off over the bay. We brought it to San Fran, and they loved us.

Recently, we haven’t really had much free time (the main reason this website hasn’t been updated in so long). We’re moving out of our house, the original Monkey Manor, and are headed west toward the beach – Pacific Beach, to be specific. For anyone that knows us, it’s safe to say we’re each a little “wound up” in our own right. The past six months have been filled with ups and downs, good shows and bad, and our personal lives have taken some major hits. We lost another beloved friend, Preston, and the event of his death left us all with that “why the fuck are we still doing the same shit” feeling. We understand the value of this life and REFUSE to waste another moment pursuing anything but what we love – and that, for us Monkeys, is rock n’ roll. So, step 1: Move to the beach.

We’re also back in the studio, recording what we believe to be our best music yet. With our limited resources, we are once again tracking/producing the record by ourselves – which actually works out, because no one knows this music better than us and we’re not too open to outsiders telling us how to do our own thing. Not yet, at least. We’re going on tour soon, which is a giant leap of faith with the potential to be yet another crushing blow to our esteem. But whatever happens with that will happen; we’ve still got the music.

Step 2: Record the new record.

Once we get back from the tour, we’re going to work to promote the album, which currently remains nameless. We’ve grown a lot from Flying Under the Influence, learning ways to be channel our music effectively from prior success and failure. Throughout everything, there remains one constant – YOU. We cannot do this without you. What we are trying to do is bigger than ourselves, bigger than this band. Rock n’ roll is still breathing – we can see it in your faces.

We’ve also recently been hit with an excess amount of, what the rap game likes to call, “haters.” You know, the people that consistently throw negativity your direction because they’re unsatisfied with their own lives, careers, etc. For example, a hater might read this blog entry and, based on its tone, immediately dismiss M.i.$. as arrogant, wannabee rock stars who take themselves way too seriously. When in fact, we systematically choose to represent ourselves with confidence, personality and, to steal another word from the rappers, swagger, as best we can. We are genuine, honest people, and are grateful for every day we get to play music. Anyone who knows us, knows that and we owe all of this to our friends, families and fans. And to all of you deuschers – just know, from the bottom of our hearts – we. do. not. care.

“Get on top, no we won’t stop.”

Rock on,

M.i.$.

Finally finishing up our Ep..

So guys, heres an inside look at how we do things.. 4 monkeys,1 dog, garage/studio and a dude named Oxi.
